How does it work?
In these videos, we explain step-by-step how to use the ALPHA for swing and sliding doors and the BRAVO for light curtains.
The ALPHA for hinged doors
When the installation is running, the door is closed, and the safety contacts of the existing safety switch are engaged.
When the door is opened, the safety switch disables the installation, but the entrapment safeguard prevents the door from being fully opened until the key is removed.
Turning and removing the key serves two functions: it activates the entrapment safeguard to allow the door to be fully opened, and it rotates the rear blocking plate, preventing the door from closing.
The operator takes the key into the installation as a personal safety key; without it, the door cannot be closed.
The ALPHA for sliding doors
When the installation is running, the door is closed, and the safety contacts of the existing safety switch are engaged.
When the door is opened, the safety switch shuts down the installation, but the containment lock prevents the door from being fully opened until the key is removed.
Turning and removing the key serves two purposes: it activates the containment lock to allow the door to be fully opened, and it rotates the rear blocking plate, preventing the door from closing.
The operator takes the key into the installation as a personal safety key; without this key, the door cannot be closed again.
The BRAVO for Light Curtains
During normal operation, the light curtains are active. This allows for an unexpected restart while operators are within the protected area, as there is nothing to prevent the infrared signal from being reactivated.
The BRAVO can be easily mounted next to the transmitter or receiver. By turning and removing the key, the blocking plate rotates, interrupting the light beams.
As long as an operator is within the safe area with their key, the blocking plate prevents an unexpected restart. For additional safety, extra LOTO padlocks can be added to the entrapments safeguard to protect other operators.
