The Versatility of tGard: Configurable Access and Control in Industrial Safety
The tGard range from Fortress Safety is designed to offer configurable interlocks and operator controls within a single, compact platform…
tGard is an entirely configurable and cost-competitive way of
machine protection.
This compact access and control system makes it possible to merge any combination of mechanical key locks, electric safety locks, push buttons and selector switches into a single robust configuration.
tGard offers total electromechanical safety solutions suitable for usage in SIL2 (EN/IEC 62061), Category 3 (EN 954-1) and PLd (EN/ISO 13849-1) applications. TGard is certified by TüV SUD.
With more than 4 million configurations, it is easy to supply a standard customer-specific solution for every access and control application.

Do you want to be sure that the tGard configurable aluminium
safety switch is the right solution for your application?

Determine your own configuration and choose from more than 50 different modules. Each tGard safety switch is only 40mm wide and is completely made of powder-coated aluminium with 316 stainless steel contact parts.
From a simple safety switch up to a complete Door-gate-box with lock, entry request, reset, safety key and internal release.

Use our coded safety keys to prevent entrapment or for the granting of authorised access. In addition, tGard can also be configured as a mechanical interlock.
With more than 5000 unique codings and 10 different master series, tGard key locks can be used as a coded safety switch in accordance with EN14119.

tGard safety switches are available with 6 different plug connections (quick disconnectors) or with a wiring terminal, enabling you to easily make use of your own cable through the use of a swivel.
All tGard configurations are sealed to IP65.

tGard can also be configured as a gate box in an ergonomic 40mm wide casing with a single plug connection.
In addition, all push buttons and status LEDs can be provided with a laser engraving for identification purposes.

The 360° rotatable INOX head makes it possible to use tGard on all door and hatch types.
With a locking force of 2,500N, tGard safety interlocks are ideal for securing machines with a run-down time.

The aluminium IP65 housing with stainless steel contact parts is only 40 mm wide, which makes it ideal for mounting on uprights and doorposts.
In addition, push buttons can be laser-engraved to identify the function (e.g. request or reset).

Integrate a high coded non-contact RFID safety switch into your configuration to immediately achieve Cat. 4 / PLe.
In addition, this safety sensor can also be used stand-alone, with and without controls.

The tGard range can also be equipped with IO-Link and IO-Safe. With IO Link, you benefit from the cabling and diagnostic advantages of Network switches at lower costs than ProNet or Ethernet/IP.
IO -Link enables signal transmission and power supply, ensuring fast and reliable data transfer. IO-Link Safety is an extension of IO-Link with an additional safety communication layer, allowing tGard safety switches to be used in SIL 3 / PLe applications.
The Fortress tGard safety switch is a configurable safety switch. The tGard range consists of a comprehensive range of emergency stops, push buttons, lamps and selector switches. Various ergonomic actuators are also available.
